The short version

For the shelf you keep meaning to get to.

Book Time turns a reading list into small games, so the next book gets chosen and the group chat gets an opinion.

What it is

Book Time is a free web app that turns a public reading list into games. A long list is a pile of maybes, and a pile of maybes is why you re-read the same author. Paste a list from Goodreads, Fable or Livraddict and it becomes a weighted wheel, a bracket, a quiz about books you swear you remember, or a tier list to fall out over. Every result is a link you can send.

Free. No sign-up. Nothing to install.

Book Time works with any public reading list from these platforms. Make sure your shelf is set to public, or we can't see it.

Questions people ask

What is Book Time?
Book Time is a free web app that turns a public reading list into games. Paste a list from Goodreads, Fable or Livraddict and play a weighted wheel, a bracket duel, a quiz or a tier list with the books on it.
Is Book Time free?
Yes. Every game is free, with no account and nothing to install. Reading challenges and creator pages are free too.
Which reading list sites does it work with?
Goodreads, Fable and Livraddict. The list has to be public: a private shelf cannot be read, so set it to public first.
Do I need an account?
Not to play. An account is only needed to keep your progress in a reading challenge or to publish a creator page.
How does the wheel pick a book?
It is a weighted random spin. Every book starts equal, and you can set any title to a weight from 1 to 10, so the ones you most want to read come up more often.
What does TBR mean?
TBR is short for "to be read": the pile of books you own or have saved but have not started. Book Time exists to pick the next one off it.
